Frame & Forks – Scott are renowned for being the leaders in the creation of lightweight bicycle frame technology. The Speedster 50’s frame is no different with the use of Scott’s Aero 6061 aluminium. The frame and forks on the Speedsters feature F01 technology which enable the bike to cut through the air with superb efficiency. Threaded eyelets are standard on the Speedster family allowing full length mudguards to be fitted, enabling the rider to keep clean in mucky conditions.
Drivetrain – The Speedster 50 is equipped with Shimano gears to ensure precise and reliable shifting every time. The 7 speed options on the rear and “compact” chain set with 50 and 34 toothed chain rings result in a bike which gives the rider a fantastic range of gears when either climbing or descending out on the road.
Wheels & tyres – Road bike wheels are known as 700c or 28” in size, they have a very 52/S tyre contact patch on the road compared to other styles of bicycle allowing great speeds to be maintained for the same amount of effort. The Speedster 50 is fitted with puncture resistant Kenda tyres which give a smooth and comfortable ride.FRAME & FORKS

The Scott story began in the Sun Valley, Idaho by top class ski racer and innovative thinker Ed Scott. He designed and developed the first tapered aluminium ski pole, rendering bamboo and steel poles defunct at the highest level of competition. The company then moved into different markets with motocross and cycling emerging as new targets for the business. Greg Lemond stunned the cycling world when he used the first ever production aero bar, which was made by Scott in his 1989 Tour de France win. Innovation and technology remain at the forefront of Scott’s design ethos in all their products. Moving forward to the present day Scott produce; bikes, components, shoes, helmets, clothing and much more, all with the same meticulous detail to performance as when Ed Scott developed his ski poles in 1958. As a result it is no surprise Scott bikes and riders have been at the forefront of international cycle sport.
Nino Schurter and Jenny Rissveds stormed to victory in the XC MTB discipline at the Rio Olympics. The pair who ride for the Scott Odlo MTB Racing Team were riding the latest evolution of the Scott Spark. In road racing the Scott Foil and Addict have become the bikes to watch whether climbing up mountains in the Alps or blasting along the cobbles in the Arenburg forest. Adam Yates and his Orica–BikeExchange team mates have been producing consistently top results using Scott products. The latest big signings for Scott are the Browlee brothers Jonny and Alister who need no introduction in the world of triathlon. The brothers who have and continue to dominate the discipline will be opening a new chapter with the brand utilising Scott’s attention to detail and no shortcuts approach to creating the best equipment on the planet.
