  • Scott Centric PLUS Helmet

    • MIPS Brain Protection System with SCOTT AIR Technology
    • Aero Optimized
    • Optimized Ventilation
    • X-Static® anti-bacterial padding
    • CONSTRUCTION: In-Mold Technology, PC Micro Shell
    • APPROX. WEIGHT: 250g size M

Combining class leading ventilation, comfort and aerodynamics to create the ultimate helmet for both road and mountain bike was Scott’s plan when they set about their latest helmet project. The Cadence leans towards the aerodynamic bias whereas the Centric leans more towards ventilation but still utilises the aerodynamic gains gleaned from the airflow testing programme.

    Stay Cool

The Scott Centric Plus has been developed to give the user incredible levels of ventilation to the point where it smashes the recognised industry standards. Research has shown that the Centric Plus cools your head 2.2% better than if you are not wearing a helmet thanks to clever implementation of the cooling vents and internal structure. Scott Air Technology adds even greater venting to the Centric allowing the riders head to cool more efficiently thanks to small holes within the MIPS shell.

Multi-Directional Impact Protection System - MIPS

This helmet is equipped with MIPS technology which uses a double layer to provide added protection against rotational violence in the event of an accident. The inner protective layer stays fixed to the head whilst the outer helmet is able to move and slide relative to the head in the event of an accident, allowing more of the impact to be absorbed by the helmet than with a non MIPS helmet. Can you afford to not be MIPS equipped?

    Polycarbonate shell construction

The outer shell of the helmet is made of polycarbonate which is amalgamated with the critical structure of the helmet ensuring that no unnecessary weight is added. Helmets which have a more traditional approach to the outer layer generally have increased bulk and are not as pleasant to wear.

As worn by Nino Shurter – Olympic Cross Country MTB Champion

Ultimately, what I seek in a racing helmet are unparalleled aerodynamics and ventilation, supreme safety and impeccable fit – the Centric Plus ticks all of those boxes.”Nino Shurter”

The Scott story began in the Sun Valley, Idaho by top class ski racer and innovative thinker Ed Scott. He designed and developed the first tapered aluminium ski pole, rendering bamboo and steel poles defunct at the highest level of competition. The company then moved into different markets with motocross and cycling emerging as new targets for the business. Greg Lemond stunned the cycling world when he used the first ever production aero bar, which was made by Scott in his 1989 Tour de France win. Innovation and technology remain at the forefront of Scott’s design ethos in all their products. Moving forward to the present day Scott produce; bikes, components, shoes, helmets, clothing and much more, all with the same meticulous detail to performance as when Ed Scott developed his ski poles in 1958. As a result it is no surprise Scott bikes and riders have been at the forefront of international cycle sport.

Nino Schurter and Jenny Rissveds stormed to victory in the XC MTB discipline at the Rio Olympics. The pair who ride for the Scott Odlo MTB Racing Team were riding the latest evolution of the Scott Spark. In road racing the Scott Foil and Addict have become the bikes to watch whether climbing up mountains in the Alps or blasting along the cobbles in the Arenburg forest. Adam Yates and his Orica–BikeExchange team mates have been producing consistently top results using Scott products. The latest big signings for Scott are the Browlee brothers Jonny and Alister who need no introduction in the world of triathlon. The brothers who have and continue to dominate the discipline will be opening a new chapter with the brand utilising Scott’s attention to detail and no shortcuts approach to creating the best equipment on the planet.
